There are a lot of different ways to find a luxe room in Vegas. But no standard room in town defines pampered sophistication like the Mandarin Oriental. This five-star hotel usually has rates in the high $200s, if not well over $300. So, whether you’re a regular fan of the Oriental or you’re giving their luxury a try for the first time—this is Vegas deal you don’t want to pass up. “Extra Fun Day Away” — Stay three consecutive nights and the third night is free until September 5, 2013.
Dates August 25-28
TESTED: I found Strip view rooms on the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas website available for an average of $176/night on a Sunday – Wednesday near the end of August. If you wanted to stay over the weekend, August 23-26, the rooms were only a little bit more for an average of $183/night. They don’t say the word average – but that’s what it is. The rooms actually start at $265/night and when you add it all up (including the third free night) and divide it by three, that’s how you get to the $176. An additional $25/night resort fee is added on to the bill plus 12% tax. The total for all three nights including taxes and fees came to $677. If you did not check this deal in the “Offers” section of the website, the price for the same room on the same nights would be $806 including taxes and fees.
TIPS: The Mandarin Oriental is located within the CityCenter and is a LEED Gold certified property. Don’t miss the Mandarin Bar on the 23rd floor for stunning views of the Strip. And if you can squeeze it in—make sure to get a treatment at the Mandarin Spa. It’s sexy as all get out.
IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER: Would you like to save more money at the same hotel? Book your stay through Travelocity. When I looked at the same exact dates August 25-28, Travelocity had the same third night free offer—but they had access to the City View rooms. These only cost $143.35 per night vs. the $176. If you’re happy changing your view to save a little more, give it a shot. However, Travelocity did not include the resort fee into it’s grand total of $478.84.
