There are places and moments in your child’s life that you will never forget. One of my most memorable moments was when our daughter took her first look under the surface of the Pacific Ocean. We were on a Trilogy snorkel cruise in Maui and Cora was five-years-old. She was hesitant to get off the boat and get in the water. John told her to just look under the water, and when she finally did she didn’t want to stop. That single moment, one of many milestones she’d have in her life, is one that I think about often. When I do think about it, I want to rush back to Maui and relive the magic. I’ve had several amazing trips to Maui, but the mere mention of a return trip to Kaanapali lights up the whole family. As much fun as we’ve already had, there’s still so much to explore, so many fun activities still yet to try. This week on Thursday, January 18, 2018, we will have a #KidsNTrips Twitter Party sponsored by Kaanapali Resorts where will talk about family travel to Kaanapali, Maui. They will be giving away a two-night stay at Royal Lahaina Resort, and four more fun gifts from Maui. Join us to win!

Kaanapali, Maui is an iconic family Hawaiian vacation. It’s a year-round destination with 13 properties to choose from including five luxury hotels you’ll have a tough time choosing between and eight condo and vacation resort club resorts for when you need a little bit more room to spread out.  We’ve already stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa,  The Westin Maui Resort & SpaKaanapali Alii, and Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas and say we’d return to all of them!

10 Favorite Family Activities on Maui

Maui is everything you want it to be—fun, romantic, relaxing, an epicurious adventure—take your pick. There’s a diverse array of activities at Kaanapali no matter what type of vacation you’re dreaming of.  If you’re headed to Maui with children, some of the activities we’d recommend are:

  • Spend time together at the beach
  • Splash around at the pool
  • Take the kids to a “keiki” program at a resort to learn how to hula or learn about a cultural craft
  • Attend a luau
  • Visit the whaling museum
  • Pet a miniature horse at the Maui Animal Farm
  • Have breakfast at Slappy Cakes
  • Explore the Maui Ocean Center
  • Shop for a souvenir at Whaler’s Village
  • and of course,  take a Trilogy snorkeling cruise!

There are the things that I still want to do with Cora and John on our next trip to Maui…

  • Go to the Maui Fair in October
  • Eat some Hawaiian Shave Ice at Ululani’s
  • Zipline at any of Maui’s zipline tours including Skyline Ka’anapali
  • See the waterfalls on the drive to Hana
  • Watch the sunrise at Haleakala National Park
